Help Crowdfund Pressed Flour's Brick & Mortar!

Hello Pressed Flour friends, fans and Kickstarter contributors. As you may know, Pressed Flour's Kickstarter campaign was not fully funded, meaning there was so financial transaction at all between our project and Kickstarter despite having received pledges close to $3500.

Regardless of the project not receiving funding, it was certainly a humbling experience to be on the receiving end of such enthusiasm and generosity, so thank you. That being said, many who had pledged expressed interest in contributing direct donations to the task of opening my doors at the new storefront located in downtown Shepherdstown.

Anyone interested in following through on donations, or even making a new pledge, can do so in the following ways:

  • Call, text or email to set up a time to stop by the storefront. I'm constantly in and out of the shop located at 111 W German Street, but I would be more than happy to meet you there! You can reach me by phone at 304.224.8951 or via email at pressedflour@gmail.com.
  • Mail a contribution. Checks or money orders can be made payable to Alisha Hanlin and sent to PO Box 3142 Shepherdstown, Wv 25443.
  • Negotiate a down payment for an event or service. Interested in helping but not in a financial position to donate with no return? Do you have an event, birthday, or something else special coming up? I would be more than happy to negotiate a reward system tailored to your individual needs. Shoot me an email!

*Having checks written to me by name as opposed to by the name of the bakery is simply to eliminate any confusion regarding revenue vs. donation landing in the business account. Your donation will go directly to needs of the bakery.

Why is Pressed Flour still seeking donations to the brick & mortar expansion of the business?

Cost. With every new business, unexpected costs crop up and hinder the road to opening its doors. We're purchasing the bulk of our equipment right now, and standard new-business hiccups have presented themselves. Equipment ranges in the thousands, delivery fees alone in the hundreds. Every bit of donated monies would help Pressed Flour invest in the proper equipment to best serve you.

Time. While I announced the bakery's plans to move into a brick and mortar space months ago, I've only gained access to the space itself two weeks ago. This put the project behind a little bit, and a little friendly, local investment could get us back on track. I'm paying two rents right now to keep the business going, as we're still a bit away from having the kitchen inspected. I'm looking at a March opening date and really want to get you guys the goods as soon as possible!

If you're interested in contributing, but not committed to doing so, feel free to contact me with any questions. No pressure, no expectations. I'm happy to answer any questions you could have.
